CoramBAAF Members’ Week 2024: Listening to the voice of the child
Our annual Members’ Week has always been a key event, bringing together CoramBAAF members, staff, guest speakers, and panellists to address the most critical issues in children’s social care. We are thrilled to return this year with a week full of best-practice guidance, valuable resources, and networking opportunities.
This year's overarching theme is "Listening to the child." Our members often have duties to listen to the children they work with. This can be to ascertain the child’s wishes and feelings and is usually to help better understand their unique needs, so that the right services and support can be given and the best decisions made. Join us to explore a range of topics about listening to children reflecting the diverse experiences of children and young people in adoption, foster care and kinship care.
Daily themes
Monday 23 September – Identity
Tuesday 24 September – Making successful plans for staying in touch
Wednesday 25 September – Working with schools to listen to children and meet their educational needs
Thursday 26 September – Health and mental health
Friday 27 September – How direct work enables us to really listen to children and young people
Throughout the week, you'll have access to a diverse mix of live events, blogs, podcast episodes, journal articles, pre-recorded bitesize workshops, and more.
Join us for this important week as we come together to listen to, reflect, and act upon the views and experiences of children and young people and ensure that we are all working towards achieving better outcomes and life chances for them.
